If you need an app for both Android and iPhone, one of the first decisions is how to build it. You can write one app that runs on both, with Flutter or React Native, or build two native apps, one per platform. Both approaches ship excellent apps. The question is which fits yours.
When one shared app makes sense
- Your app is mainly screens, forms, lists and data from your server — most business apps are.
- You want both platforms at the same time, from one team.
- You want every change and fix to reach both platforms at once.
One codebase usually means less to build and less to maintain, which matters most in the years after launch.
When native is worth it
- The app leans heavily on the phone’s hardware: advanced camera work, Bluetooth devices, background tracking.
- You need a platform feature on the day Apple or Google releases it.
- You only need one platform, so there is nothing to share.
Questions to settle first
- Which platform do most of your users have? In India that is mostly Android.
- Does it need to work without a signal?
- Does a website that works well on a phone cover the first release?
We build both ways. If you are unsure, a short call is usually enough to decide.
